Part Ⅰ: 500kV Power Transformer Overview

The 500kV series oil-immersed power transformer is a series of transformers with low noise, low loss, low partial discharge, high short-circuit resistance and strong overload capacity successfully produced by digesting and absorbing advanced concepts at home and abroad, and through independent optimization and innovation. The electromagnetic calculation and verification analysis of this series of transformers use advanced design software for calculation and analysis, and the structural design uses SolidWorks three-dimensional software for auxiliary design.


The 500kV power transformers are mainly made of iron core and windings, which are placed in the oil tank that filled with insulating oil. It is mainly used for power plant, power transmission and distribution station as the equipment of power transmission.


The transformer structure layout is reasonable. According to the calculation and analysis results, a reasonable insulation structure, wire specifications and magnetic flux density are selected. Perform accurate calculations on various cooling methods, perform thermal calculations on periodic overloads and temporary overloads of windings, and select the most suitable cooling method among cooling methods such as fin air cooling, strong oil air cooling, and strong oil water cooling. Minimize the oil level and winding temperature rise.

Part Ⅱ: Product Features

1. High Reliability:

Temperature rise: the temperature distribution can not get effectively controlled may result in the aging of transformer insulation. There is no over-centralized temperature area in the transformer interior and the insulation life has been ensured through the analysis of oil flow and temperature field in transformers.

The reliability of products has been greatly improved.



2. Low power loss and low operation cost

The transformer has relatively low losses through the optimized design, the detailed analysis of leakage magnetic field and the losses distribution. The maintenance cost has been lowered through the Customer-oriented design.



3. Customer-oriented Design

Based on the 3D design method to simulate feeders, operation filed and terminal box arrangement are in full consideration of operating conveniences, which meets the requirements on cost lowering and customization, as well.


4. High Earthquake Resistance

The casing design adopts the dynamic design method, the horizontal acceleration is set as 0.5g, the waveform is set as the resonant sinusoidal third harmonic, and the loading position is the lower end of the casing flange seat. The transformer body adopts the static design method, and the static horizontal acceleration is 0.5g.


5. Good Mechanical Strength

① Through software simulation, the weak points of structural parts are eliminated to improve the mechanical strength of structural parts.

② Made of high strength steel plate.

③ Laser cutting equipment is used for processing, with small deformation and stress of structural parts.


Part Ⅲ: Structural Feature

1. Iron Core

① The iron core is made of cold rolled, granular-oriented, low-loss and high magnetic conductive silicon steel sheet, which is of multi-step completely tilted structure to reduce the loss and noise.

② Iron core with fixed clamps optimizes the design so as to ensure mechanical strength and to reduce leakage losses

③ Adoption of PET banding structure ensures the clamp force of core column and lowers the noise.



2. Winding

① HV winding adopts entanglement or inner screened continuous type with phase insulation structure to ensure insulating strength.

② MV/LV windings adopt high strength or adhibit-transpostion conductor, reinforced cooling to reduce the temperature rise and enhance capability of short circuit withstand.


3. Active-parts Assembly

① Cold pressing ensures cleanness of the body active parts and the reliability of leads.

② Adoption of whole assembled phase insulation so as to reduce the assembly time and effectively guarantee the dimension and shape of the insulation structure.

③ HV lead adopts specially molded insulation parts for protection which effectively guarantees its insulating strength and reduces partial discharge.



4. Oil Tank

① Thee-dimension finite element strength analysis and Pro-E mold is adopted, which have reinforced the mechanical strength.

② Adopting of welding automatic submerged arc-welding and ultrasonic of fluorescence leakage test to guarantee leakage -free The surface coating is strictly controlled.



5. Assembly and Routine Test

Before packing the transformer, make a packing plan, and carry out packing according to the design scheme and plan when packing. The packing list corresponds to the materials in the box one to one. Pack the box in two copies, one in the packing box and the other nailed outside the packing box. Important parts and spare parts are packed in wooden boxes, and the box numbers are set in order.

The transformer is transported in bare installation, and the fuel tank is emptied before transport. It is tied to a transport vehicle by a wire rope, and the transport speed does not exceed 15km/h.

The terminal is guaranteed to have large-scale transformer lifting equipment, and the lashing is firm after loading to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
